Peter Sheeler
The unique and natural beauty of Grey and Bruce county provide endless inspiration for my wildlife and nature art. I grew up in Owen Sound at the foot of what I consider to be one of the Bruce Trails most beautiful sections. My childhood was spent hiking and exploring its crevasses, cliffs and forests.
Years later when I began to paint, my choice of subject matter was inevitable.
Working exclusively in watercolour I prefer the softer appearance I achieve through this medium. I do not like to rely on photographs and therefore paint only the indigenous wildlife of this area, attempting to portray my subjects accurately but not create a look of photographic realism.
Along with originals my work is featured in Limited Edition Reproductions, collector plates, calendars and art cards.
