Audrey Kirk

Audrey is one of the artists contributing to Sassafras Artistic Design. She lives in Kemble, and creates at her family owned studio in downtown Shallow Lake. She was home schooled and travelled with her family until she began high school. Audrey now enjoys high school and is working toward a career in design.

Audrey's jewelry pieces are in sterling silver and feature dichroic glass beads that she makes with her dad. The dichroic glass is cut into shapes and fused in a kiln, usually two or three times to achieve the desired effect. Audrey may also cold work the glass between firings.

Audrey enjoys making the unexpected so you will find that most of her designs ar asymmetrical. She puts fused glass pieces together with different silver components to create a piece that is her own unique style. She never makes anything twice, so all the jewelry is truly one of a kind. Recently Audrey has found a way to put her signature on each finshed product in the form of a tiny silver tag stamped with a pineapple. The pineapple signifying her love of warm, tropical locations.
