Linda Bester

With her affinity for vibrant colour and her delicate attention to the play of light and shadow, Linda's paintings evoke a gentle yet passionate view of her surroundings. Whether that view is inspired by the serenity and beauty of a crisp winter morning, or a startling depiction of a European street scape, it is captured with the intention of being shared and enjoyed by others.

Linda is proficient in watercolour, oil, acrylic and pastel. Her subject matter is as varied as the world around her and includes both natural and man made elements, as seen in harmony with one another. Her lifelong passion for art developed into a full time painting career in 1990, when she moved to the Grey Bruce area. A prolific and accomplished artist, Linda Bester's work can be found in many private and corporate collections worldwide.

Linda's love of art is shared by her family - her children, Angela, a prop maker at the Stratford Shakespeare Theatre and Scott, an area painter and illustrator and her husband Gary. Together Linda and Gary have transformed their home and studios into a painter's paradise.

Bester Studios Artist Retreat is nestled on 32 acres of rolling hills and trees, providing the perfect setting in which to inspire other artists. It is here that Linda teaches art classes and workshops and offers accommodation to other painters and non-artists alike. For information please see her website.
