Ron Ball

Ron, A retired cabinetmaking teacher got the turning bug when he turned his first bowl in his grade eight industrial arts class and has been turning ever since. Largely self taught with the help of a few turning seminars Ron now turns out beautifully crafted bowls, thin walled vessels, lamps, kaleidoscopes, Victorian Christmas ornaments and whatever else might catch his fancy. Most wood used in Ron's work is locally acquired as he believes that what is growing around us is as beautiful as any imported wood. Every turning is a one of a kind object with each having its own uniqueness.

In bowl turning rim design is what sets his bowls apart from other turners. Not satisfied with a simple turning, Ron goes on to carve or add creative detail not seen in many other artist's work.
